World Youth Day 2023

This summer, Fordham students will participate in World Youth Day and MAGIS 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal. World Youth Day is a pilgrimage of young people from across the world who gather with Pope Francis to celebrate the universality of the Church and empower her future generations. As a delegation, we represent the largest group of students from any Jesuit university in the United States! 

In addition to attending World Youth Day, our delegation will also participate in MAGIS 2023, an international event sponsored by the Society of Jesus for young adults across the world to serve, reflect, and pray in local communities in preparation for World Youth Day. The hope is that, led by the Spirit of Christ, we will pursue lives of service committed to creating a hope-filled future. Our eager participation in MAGIS will better allow our delegation to understand and live out the Universal Apostolic Preferences–the guiding preferences of the Jesuits as ratified by Pope Francis. 

As young people, we respond to God’s call by leaning into the unknown, seeking accompaniment, and returning to Fordham with enriched and awakened hearts.
