The mission of Global Outreach is to engage with, be challenged by, and further evolve Fordham’s partnerships with communities around the world. Global Outreach seeks to nurture civically-minded leaders for a global society who work for justice and solidarity while being committed to lifelong learning and holistic transformation. GO! values an ongoing commitment to sustainable relationships, anti-racism, solidarity, environmental stewardship, community engagement, global citizenship, cultural exchange, education, and multiculturalism.
In January of 2024, a team of current Fordham students and a Fordham faculty member will travel to East Los Angeles, California. We will be working with Dolores Mission Church, a Jesuit Catholic Parish that provides direct service to migrants through Christian Base Communities. Dolores Mission responds to the spiritual, educational, physical, and emotional needs of their community. Our Fordham team will work with Dolores Mission to engage with the local community, providing support for a variety of populations including immigrants and lower-income families, while also learning about the Boyle Heights Community of East Los Angeles. We hope you will support our efforts to deepen our knowledge and engagement with Fordham’s mission, by promoting the moral and intellectual development that this trip fosters.
