Global Outreach (GO!) is a program centered on promoting social justice awareness and active community engagement. GO! Allows students to grow and be challenged by global collaborations while fostering meaningful relationships with these communities. This program aligns with Fordham's Jesuit mission of nurturing diverse leadership in a global context, working for justice and solidarity. In doing so, students are able to gain transformative experiences and direct insights into systems of inequality, engaging in anti-racism and anti-oppression efforts.

The 2024 GO! Arizona team will be working alongside the Kino Border Initiative (KBI) in Nogales, both on the U.S. side in Arizona and the Mexican side. KBI is a unique binational Jesuit organization that offers direct assistance to migrants through a holistic approach, emphasizing the humanity and worth of every individual. KBI’s mission revolves around the concept of holistic accompaniment, which means they provide not just immediate assistance but a more comprehensive form of support, including spiritual care, recreation, empowerment, and access to rights. The Fordham student team will actively engage in this mission, standing alongside migrants and listening to their stories on the realities of the border. Fordham students will also have the opportunity to engage in conversations with ranchers, border patrol agents, and others who can offer diverse perspectives on migration and the dynamics of the border region. This experience is not only a learning opportunity but a powerful way to put Fordham's values of social justice, solidarity, and global engagement into practice. We kindly seek your support in furthering our understanding of Fordham's mission and engaging with it, alongside KBI’s mission of fostering a more humane, just, and workable migration system between the U.S. and Mexico.
