Funding Opportunities in Support of Fordham's LGBTQ+ Community

Meeting the distinctive needs of LGBTQ+ students is consonant with Fordham’s identity as a Jesuit Catholic university. Fordham aims to show every student, prospective student, parent, and alum that they will be welcomed, included, and affirmed at the University. Our commitment is to support every Fordham student as a whole person.

To that end, there are two funds that support Fordham's LBGTQ+ community:

The LGBTQ+ Student Wellness Fund helps support spiritual and mental health services that are provided to students, and The LGBTQ+ Student Activity Fund helps bring LGBTQ+ specific programming to the university for students to enjoy.

On Fordham Giving Day, Christa and John Reddy, PAR '16, will match all gifts to the LGBTQ+ Student Activity Fund, up to $5,000. Help us meet this match!

Fordham's Trustee Diversity Fund

Established by Fordham Trustee Valerie Rainford, the Trustee Diversity Fund is a current-use fund that fosters greater diversity among the student body at Fordham by providing financial support to students of color and those from first-generation or lower-income backgrounds. It was created in early 2021 to ease the burdens of student loans and part-time work that disproportionately affect Black and Latinx students. The fund provides “last-dollar” aid that closes the final financial gap for students, helping them not only enroll but also take advantage of on-campus housing and other opportunities.

Please consider supporting the Trustee Diversity Fund today, on Fordham Giving Day!

175 years of military service at Fordham

This year marks 175 years of military service at Fordham. Tradition holds that Fordham’s military heritage dates from 1848, when the state of New York issued Fordham 12 muskets for defense against the threat of nativist rioters.

Today, the University is home to a military service community comprising one of the most diverse ROTC cadet battalions in the Northeast and more than 400 students who are veterans.

In memory of her brother who served in the US Army, an anonymous donor will contribute $2 for every $1 donated to the Veterans Emergency Assistance Fund, up to $25,000. Please help us meet this match and honor the legacy of Fordham’s military service.
