About

Today is Marymount College’s Giving Day! Support the Marymount Legacy Fund and you will sustain the legacy of our alma mater, provide educational access to deserving students, and honor the efforts of all the R.S.H.M. who devoted their lives to our betterment and education.

Marymount Giving Day will last 1,907 minutes in honor of our founding year of 1907. Please consider a fitting gift in the amount of $1,907, $190.70, or $19.07 to the Marymount Legacy Fund.

Our goal is to raise $3,814 — double the number of our founding year. If we reach this goal, we will unlock an additional $1,907 from the Alumnae Board. Thank you for all you do to help our younger Marymount sisters studying at Fordham and for keeping the Marymount spirit alive!

New Challenge Announced!

Big news! We unlocked an additional $1,907 in support from the Marymount College Alumnae Association Board by reaching our first goal of $3,814, which is double our founding year of 1907.

If we raise another $10,907, Joyce Abamont, ’66, will contribute an additional $10,000 to the Marymount Legacy Fund.

Help us meet our new goal of $25,000!

Marymount College Giving Day

Today is Marymount College’s second annual Giving Day! Giving Day is an opportunity for the Marymount community to show the power of our love for Marymount, our dedication to and respect for the efforts of the R.S.H.M. women, and our care for the Marymount Legacy Fund and its beneficiaries.

Marymount Giving Day will last 1,907 minutes in honor of our founding year. Our goal is to raise $3,814—double our founding year. If we do so, we will give an extra $1,907 to the Legacy Fund.

Consider a fitting gift in the amount of $1,907, $190.70, or $19.07. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Marymount Legacy Fund? The Marymount Legacy Fund is an endowed scholarship at Fordham University, in recognition of the Centennial of Marymount College in 2007 and to honor the alumnae, faculty, staff, and R.S.H.M. of Marymount.

The goal of the endowed fund is to preserve the Marymount name and tradition of excellence set forth by Mother Butler in helping to educate and shape female undergraduates at Fordham University. The fund aims to honor and continue the mission of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary who founded Marymount in 1907.

Who benefits from my donation? Your younger sisters! The Marymount Legacy Fund is designed to support young women who:

  • Embody the Marymount spirit through learning and leadership;
  • Have a family affiliation with any of the Marymount secondary schools or colleges; and
  • Demonstrate financial need and academic merit.

It has benefitted over a dozen talented young people over the years. This year there are two scholarship recipients.

I prefer not to make an online gift. Can I mail a contribution? Absolutely! Make a check out to Fordham University and write "Marymount Legacy Fund" on the memo line. Mail it to:
