Global Outreach, or GO! Is a service-immersion program run through Fordham’s Center for Community-Engaged Learning. Each project is led by a leader and a chaperone, with ten spots open for students to participate. Throughout the weeks leading up to a trip, our team will have conversations centered around the 5 pillars of GO!: community, simple living, Ignatian spirituality, social justice, and active community-based education. Through partnerships with both domestic and international organizations, students commit themselves to fostering civic engagement, sustainable relationships, anti-racism work, and being individuals for–and most importantly–with others. Our GO! St. Thomas team will be partnering with My Brother's Workshop, a nonprofit organization that provides mentoring, counseling, job training, and educational programs for at-risk youth in the U.S. Virgin Islands. During our time in St. Thomas, we’ll learn about the initiatives that community organizations have taken to support youth and enact change at the local level, and how we can establish meaningful long-term partnerships with them at Fordham.
GO! trips are made possible through the support of family, friends, and Fordham alumni, and we are incredibly grateful for your contribution. Your donation will make it possible for our team of students to embark on this project by offsetting the costs of this trip and by supporting the mission of My Brother's Workshop. On behalf of our entire team, we want to offer our sincere gratitude for your generosity, and we look forward to sharing updates from the project when we get back!
