Global Outreach is a cultural immersion program that allows students to learn about and engage with Fordham Center for Community Engaged Learning’s global and domestic partners.
The ultimate goal is to exercise the Fordham mission of developing the whole person and being men and women for others by using the Jesuit education to work for social justice in our world.
The Global Outreach St. Thomas team is eager to live out the Fordham mission and build upon the four pillars of Global Outreach: community, social justice, solidarity, and simple living. It is essential that we keep these in mind as we develop our understanding of the culture in St. Thomas and apply what we learn in our weekly meetings to work for solidarity and education while we are there.
While in St. Thomas we will be partnering with the local organization My Brother’s Workshop. My Brother’s Workshop is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit Virgin Islands charitable corporation. It has been organized to provide hope, faith, and purpose to at-risk and high-risk young people in the United States Virgin Islands. Their mission is to assist at-risk youth to become positive members of society through mentoring, training, education, and job placement. Please help support our journey in education and engagement with the youth of St. Thomas!
