Global Outreach (GO!) is a program of the Center for Community-Engaged Learning at Fordham University. Each GO! project brings students on a justice-centered immersion trip with a semester-long preparation component grounded in solidarity and Ignatian spirituality. Students engage with Fordham partners and global communities to learn about and be challenged by ideas of social justice with the goal of transforming students into lifelong learners and civic leaders. As a program, GO! values an ongoing commitment to sustainable relationships, anti-racism, solidarity, environmentalism and sustainability, community engagement, global citizenship, cultural exchange, education, and multiculturalism.
From June 3-10, 2023, a group of Fordham students will head to Aberdeen, Mississippi, to work with Camp Friendship, which has been a Fordham partner for over three decades. We will serve and learn as camp counselors to young children ages 6-10, most of whom are in the foster care or social services system. Your donations will help offset student costs and go directly to the camp. We are very excited to spend our days (and nights!) working on-site and directly with the children!
