Global Outreach (GO!) is a Fordham University program offered through its Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL).
Each GO! project focuses on service and immersion based learning through the lens of solidarity, fostering spirituality, and engaging issues of poverty and injustice, while connecting local and global realities within the Ignatian tradition. The mission of Global Outreach is to engage with, be challenged by, and further evolve Fordham’s global partnership. Through these relationships, students seek to understand and wrestle with social justice, solidarity, spirituality, and their Jesuit education. Global Outreach, seeks to nurture civically-minded leaders for a global society who work for justice and solidarity while being committed to lifelong learning and holistic transformation. As a program, GO! values an ongoing commitment to sustainable relationships, anti-racism, solidarity, environmentalism and sustainability, community engagement, global citizenship, cultural exchange, education, and multiculturalism.
In June of 2022, a group of Fordham students will head to Aberdeen, MS, to work with Camp Friendship, one of Fordham’s long- standing community engaged learning partners. We will serve and learn as camp counselors to young children, most of whom are in foster care, and learn about the community contexts in which these children and their families live. Your donations will offset student costs and go directly to the camp itself. We will spend our days working directly on site with these children and are really excited!
