Global Outreach is a program at Fordham where students are immersed in another culture while walking and learning with a community. Projects run for just over a week in the winter, spring, and summer. GO! focuses on five pillars: education, social justice, simple living, community, and spirituality. Students participating on the project meet each week to learn about the community they are entering, and prepare themselves to live and act in accordance with the five pillars. The formation process supports the dedicated preparedness to social justice and genuine community engagement, giving students the life-changing opportunity to engage with Fordham’s global partnerships. Through solidarity and commitment to Jesuit values, students are carefully crafted into leaders in this global society, embracing understanding over change. The goal of GO! Is for students to truly walk with those within the communities they enter, committing themselves to sustainable relationships on a global scale.
Our GO! Colombia project echoes all of this and more. As a team, we will be preparing to enter Colombia and learn about education, meeting students in a University setting to expand our view of what education is and what Jesuit education looks like around the globe. We will encounter fellow students and educators, and build incredible bonds. However, we cannot experience this without your help. Any donation counts and is immensely appreciated to help us fund the expenses of our project. Your generosity and support means so much to us, and will allow each of us to experience this Global Outreach project in Colombia. Thank you!
