Global Outreach (GO) is a Fordham University program dedicated to service-learning and cultural immersion. Through the four main pillars of spirituality, community, simple living and social justice, each team this winter break will have the opportunity to implement these Jesuit values in their new communities to bring back an eye-opening and thought-provoking experience.
The Bronx project will engage students more deeply into the work of POTS, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to be a loving community in the Bronx that nourishes the basic needs and hunger of all who come to its doors. POTS’s mosaic of services, big and small, simple and complex, come together in its ‘one-stop-shop’ model. Offering a wide array of support under one roof, staff and services work in concert to address diverse and complex needs. Through immersion into the work of POTS paired with various cultural activities across the borough and periods of group reflection and discussion, students will hopefully come to greater knowledge and appreciation of this part of New York City that Fordham calls home!
We appreciate monetary donations of any amount to help cover the costs of our project, as well as school supplies for one of the programs we will be working with! Thank you for your support!
Contact a member of the team or mmacdonald11@fordham.edu if you'd like to contribute school supplies.
On behalf of the entire GO! Bronx team, thank you!
