About

GO! San Jose is a part of Fordham University’s Global Outreach program. Global Outreach allows students to learn about various social, economic, political and environmental injustices through immersion and service, fostering communal and spiritual growth while also living a simple lifestyle. A team of 9, comprised of 7 students, 1 student leader, and 1 chaperone, will be headed to San Jose, California in March 2019. On this project, the team will partner with Community Links International, a service-learning and international educational organization. Through cross-cultural immersion experiences, Community Links International provides people with the chance to learn about and recognize the interconnectedness of our world and how our actions impact people, cultures, and environments.

Through our partnership with Community Links International, as well as lectures, a homestay, and spending time at the local community center, we will learn about immigration and the experience of the Mexican-American community of San Juan Bautista. We will also explore the wealth disparity between Silicon Valley and the surrounding immigrant communities. All donations will go towards lowering the expenses of airfare and other added costs of the trip. We deeply appreciate all donations. We thank you in advance and cannot wait to experience all that GO! San Jose has to offer!
